Blade is a NYC graffiti pioneer from the Bronx. He started writing in 1972 and became one of the most prolific and influential subway painters of the golden era, with an estimated 5,000 train cars to his name, earning him the title "King of the Line."

He was known for his clean lettering, early whole-car and top-to-bottom pieces, and his cartoon characters and detailed scenes. He also helped shape what became the classic NYC subway style that later spread worldwide.
